Ribamontán and Surf Schools

The municipality trasmerano approves the Ordinance regulating the Use and Coexistence of the Beaches and other Public Spaces. The Official Gazette of Cantabria has published on Monday the new ordinance that the City Council of Ribamontán al Mar has developed to regulate "the use and coexistence of the beaches and other public spaces"   of the municipality. The purpose of this edict is no other than to guarantee "the enjoyment and coexistence between athletes, sports schools, swimmers and users in general during the summer, a period during which the boom in these activities makes the beaches located in the municipality suffer an overload of users". Among the ordinance, its article 31 stands out, destined to regulate the practice of maritime sports activities: Article 31. Rules for the practice of sports activities.

1.- During the bathing season and bathing hours, in the areas reserved exclusively for bathing in referred to in Article 23 of this Ordinance, it is forbidden to practice the sport of Surfing, Paddle Surfing, Windsurfing, Kitesurfing or other similar disciplines, as well as the use of jet skis or similar, for safety reasons and to avoid damage that may be caused to users of the beaches. Notwithstanding the foregoing, and in exceptional cases, the City Council may authorize the aforementioned sports practices on the occasion of competitions or sports championships or similar events. In such cases, organizers and participants must respect the places, schedules or conditions established by the City Council.

2.- The businessmen or the companies of practice of the surf activity that want to exercise their activity in the beaches of the municipal term of Ribamontán al Mar, without damage of the authorizations corresponding to other Public Administrations, will have to request the opportune license of activity having to present in any case the following documentation and without damage of any other one that could be exigible in its moment according to the effective norm in force:

a) Application for a license, indicating its temporary or permanent nature and proposed location.

b) Certified copy of the certificate of registration in the tax of economic activities or certificate of being up to date with the obligations with the Treasury.

c) Certified copy of the certificate of being up to date with their social security obligations or copy of the last bank receipt for social security contributions.

d) Certified copy of the document accrediting the legal personality of the entrepreneur (DNI or CIF).

e) Copy of the receipt of the Civil Liability Insurance in force that covers the activity to be developed.

f) Documents accrediting the qualification for professional practice, if necessary, in each case required.
